HAUL ASS, NOT CARGO In 2019, Áspero took the gravel world by storm, heralding a “new era of speed in gravel.” Fun, but flat out. The new Áspero remains true to its original brief, but with some improvements: a threaded BB shell, neater cable routing, and a UDH-compatible derailleur hanger for those who want to use SRAM’s Transmission drivetrains. And it’s more aero, of course. In the case of Áspero, aerodynamic performance is less about pure speed as a result of drag reduction, and more about conservation of energy. After a big day in a headwind, the three watts saved over the previous Aspero might add up to one less energy gel your stomach has to digest—WORTH IT. In addition to the drag reduction, we also dropped the seat stays to give a bit more compliance out back, and reduced front-end stiffness slightly to make the last hours of a long race less painful. Between those dropped seat stays, we added in a bit more clearance for mud, too, taking what we learned from R5-CX (and the Unbound mudfest in 2023). It’s a lot of seemingly small improvements, but they add up to a lot. The result is a bike that feels a lot like the original Áspero, but is faster, more comfortable, and more versatile. THREADED BOTTOM BRACKET Aspero uses the asymmetrical T47a threaded bottom bracket we pioneered on R5-CX. It’s a simple, rider-serviceable interface that allows us to deliver the benefits of BBRight in a more user-friendly form. UNIVERSAL DERAILLEUR HANGAR We used SRAM’s Universal Derailleur Hanger (UDH) standard on the new Aspero. It’s ideal if you want to live your best ‘business in the front, party in the back’ life with one of SRAM’s Transmission drivetrains today, and ensures compatibility for future drivetrain developments. INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING Aspero shares the same bearing dimensions as R5, Soloist, R5-CX, and Caledonia, which means you can use any combination of bearing caps and stems. SHAPE OF SPEED Áspero-5 is 37 Watts faster than its predecessor, and 34 Watts faster than the nearest competitor. Cervélo has long led the industry in aerodynamics, and we’ve delivered a gravel race bike worthy of that reputation. The aero handlebar and stem are responsible for nearly 6 Watts of that savings on their own. WEIGHT The new Áspero-5 is 66 grams lighter than its predecessor, despite adding a significant amount of surface area to improve aerodynamic performance. MIXED & MATCHED TIRE GEO When fitted with equally-sized tires (e.g. 42mm front and rear), Áspero-5’s handling is stable, confidence-inspiring, and ready for the roughest courses. To increase aerodynamics even further, and sharpen handling for less-technical courses, we optimized the geo for a 4mm tire width differential (e.g. 40mm front, 44mm rear). DOWNTUBE STORAGE First seen on the P-Series triathlon bike, we’ve implemented our industry-leading downtube storage door on the Áspero-5. It’s the lightest and most aerodynamically efficient system on the market, and puts a tube, tools, and a flat kit inside the frame and out of the wind.

FOR YOUR BIG, STUPID RIDES On the fringes of cycling and triathlon, already endurance-oriented sports, there are athletes pushing their bodies and equipment to the limit. Ultra-distance, but ultra-fast. We call these Big, Stupid Rides, and since the introduction of the Caledonia in 2020, athletes around the world have been exploring just how big and just how stupid those rides can be. A NEW FRONTIER Rouvida gets you to fast, well, faster. Sleekly designed around the Fazua Ride60 motor, Rouvida delivers 60nM of torque paired to a 430wH battery, and assists you all the way up to 28mph—pro peloton speeds on the road, and edge-of-control-two-wheel-drifts off-road. That’s right, Rouvida comes in two configurations: road and gravel. We designed some clever interchangeable dropouts that significantly alter the geometry of the bike, so the road bike feels like a road bike, and the gravel bike feels like a gravel bike. No compromises, just speed. Rouvida is not available in Canada or Australia at this time, but we are working on navigating regulations in each region. Doing More So You Can Do More We knew there was interest in both gravel and road performance e-bikes, so we designed dropouts that make one frame do double duty. A world away from your typical ‘flip chip,’ these interchangeable dropouts have the effect of rotating the entire frame to achieve the fit and handling you expect from a Cervélo road bike, and from a Cervélo gravel bike. When changing inserts (which must be purchased from your retailer), there is also a firmware update that needs to take place, and this service must be performed by your local Cervélo retailer. Classic Cervélo While the design brief didn’t actually say, ‘Don’t make it look like an e-bike,’ it was definitely at the forefront of our thoughts throughout the process. Our bikes are refined, design-forward performance machines. The addition of a motor and battery couldn’t change that. From the reorientation of the battery to the relocation of the speed sensor, we made every effort to ensure that Rouvida meant Cervélo just as much as S5 or Áspero do. Smooth, powerful, and natural Fazua’s latest offering, the Ride60, has already received accolades for its ability to blend seamlessly with your pedaling input to deliver a ride that feels like an analog bike, just with a lot more oomph. It’s about 250g heavier than R5, and 250g lighter than S5. It’s 190g slower than S5, but 126g faster than R5. You get the idea. It’s the ‘just-right’ answer for the rider trying to find a smart, intentional compromise. HIDDEN FROM THE WIND, NO BLEED NECESSARY The cable routing is inside the frame for aerodynamics, but doesn't go through the stem. We developed our own system that threads the cables under the stem, but through the bearing cap. Whether your position changes or you loan the bike to a friend who uses a different stem length, you won't need to bleed the brakes to swap the stem. CLEARANCE TO BUZZ THE TOWER The Soloist fits tires up to 34mm (measured), and wheels wide enough to support them. BBRIGHT-47 The BBRighT-47 bottom bracket, which first appeared on the R5-CX, is ideal for those who log big miles but don't have a pro wrench checking the bike over every day. It makes BB swaps a breeze (convenient if you're burning through hand-me-down components) and extends the life of the frame.
